Who is Eligible for a Turkey Visa?

Anyone who is a citizen of any country that is a member of the European Union (EU) or the United States of America (USA) is eligible for a visa to Turkey. Nationals of Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo, Macedonia, Montenegro, Serbia, and the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia are also eligible for visas. Nationals of Syria are not eligible for visas.

To be eligible for a visa to Turkey, you must have a valid passport that has at least six months remaining validity and be in good health. You will also need to provide proof of your citizenship and identification. The most common identification documents used in Turkey are driver’s licenses from countries belonging to the EU or USA. However, other acceptable forms of identification include passports from these same countries as well as national ID cards from certain countries in Africa, Asia, and South America.

If you do not have any of the required documentation or if it is damaged or expired, you may be able to obtain a visa at a Turkish consulate or embassy outside your home country. If applying directly at the Turkish border crossing point however, you will require both a passport and valid travel tickets.

How to Apply for a Turkey Visa

If you are travelling to Turkey for a holiday or business trip, please note that you will need to apply for a visa prior to travelling. Here we will outline the steps necessary to apply for a Turkish visa.

Required Documents:
